Chihuahua Breeders for Florida Families
We are not a Florida breeder, and we will not pretend to be. We are a small home breeder in Central Texas who brings puppies to Florida in person. That matters more than an address. The puppy you pick from this page is the puppy we raised, weighed every morning and fed by hand, and the person who walks out of arrivals in Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale or Miami with it under the seat is one of us.
From the day you reserve, you can call or text us on (646) 463-2052 whenever you want to hear how your puppy is doing. Families in South Florida and on the Gulf Coast get exactly the same puppy, paperwork and handover as a family who drives to our door.
Chihuahua for Sale in Florida: Flown to You or Collected
We fly your puppy to you. One of us books a seat, puts your puppy in a soft carrier under the seat in front, and flies it to your nearest Florida airport. We meet you in arrivals, walk you through feeding and the low blood sugar signs in person, and hand over the puppy with its records and starter food. Most trips are there and back the same day.
You send someone to collect. If you have family in Texas, or someone you trust is making the trip, they can collect your puppy from our home by appointment. They meet the mother, see the room the litter was raised in and get the same care walkthrough you would. We just need their name in advance and your go-ahead in writing.
What we never do is put a puppy in the cargo hold or hand it to a transport company. A 2 pound puppy needs someone checking on it the whole way.
Chihuahua for Sale in Miami, Orlando and Tampa: Our Florida Airports
We fly out of Austin-Bergstrom, about an hour south of us. Florida is one of the easiest states to reach because the big airports all have direct flights.
| Airport | Serves | Flight time |
|---|---|---|
| Orlando (MCO) | Central Florida, Kissimmee, Daytona | About 2 hours 30 minutes |
| Tampa (TPA) | Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg, Sarasota | About 2 hours 30 minutes |
| Fort Lauderdale (FLL) | Broward and Palm Beach | About 2 hours 45 minutes |
| Miami (MIA) | Miami-Dade and the Keys | About 2 hours 45 minutes |
Jacksonville, Fort Myers and Pensacola usually mean one connection, which makes a longer day for the puppy. If you are closer to one of the four airports above, meeting us there is often the better choice.
Teacup Chihuahua Puppies in the Florida Heat
Florida is the state where we give the most advice about heat. A puppy that weighs under 3 pounds warms up quickly and cannot cool itself well. From May to October:
- Have the car cooled before we land. The walk from arrivals to a parked car in July is long enough to overheat a small carrier.
- Walk at dawn or after dark. Sidewalks and pool decks in the afternoon can burn paw pads.
- Watch for hurricane season. If a storm threatens your airport between June and November, we move the flight rather than risk delays with a puppy on board.
Long coat Chihuahuas do fine in Florida as long as they live indoors in air conditioning. If you are torn between coats, our long coat vs smooth coat comparison covers grooming and climate.
Florida Pet Sale Law, Rabies and County Licensing
Florida has its own pet sale law, Florida Statute 828.29, which covers health certificates and the buyer's rights when a dog is sold. Every puppy we fly comes with a current health certificate from our vet, its vaccine record and microchip number. Most Florida counties ask for a rabies vaccine and a county license tag by 4 months of age, so book your Florida vet within the first three days and bring our record with you.
Prices for every puppy are on its listing, from $650 to $850. Read how flights work on our Chihuahua puppy delivery page, then send the free adoption application and tell us your nearest Florida airport.
Florida Chihuahua Puppy Questions
Can you fly a Chihuahua puppy to Florida?
Yes. One of us flies with your puppy in the cabin, in a soft carrier under the seat, and hands it to you at your Florida airport. Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and Miami all have direct flights from Austin, which is about an hour from our home. Your puppy never travels in cargo and is never handed to a hired transporter.
Are there Chihuahua breeders in South Florida that fly puppies in?
We are a Texas breeder, not a Florida one, but we fly puppies into Fort Lauderdale and Miami on direct flights of under three hours. You meet us at the airport, we go through feeding and care with you face to face, and you leave with the puppy, its vet record and its AKC paperwork.
What does a Florida family need ready for a teacup Chihuahua?
A small crate or pen kept in an air conditioned room, pee pads, a covered bed, the starter food we send and a tube of Nutri-Cal or glucose gel. In a Florida summer, plan walks for early morning or after sunset, and keep the puppy off hot pavement and pool decks until it is older.
