Upcoming Chihuahua Litters and Our Puppy Waitlist

We plan only a few litters a year. Here are the pairings we expect next. Waitlist families hear about each litter first, before any puppy appears on our available Chihuahua puppies page.

Planned Chihuahua Litters

No litters are planned at the moment. Join the waitlist and we will contact you first.

Due dates are estimates. Chihuahuas carry for about 63 days, and litters are small, so the number of puppies of each coat and gender is never guaranteed.

How We Plan Each Chihuahua Litter

Every pairing starts with the female. She must be fully grown, at a healthy weight, cleared by our vet and past her health testing before we plan a litter. We never breed a female on her first heat, and we give her time to recover between litters. You can read how each litter is raised on our page about how we raise our Chihuahua puppies.

We pair for temperament first and then for small, predictable size, using the parents' adult weights and our records from earlier litters. We never pair two merles. Our teacup Chihuahua guide explains how we project adult size, and our teacup Chihuahua puppies page lists what is available now.

Joining the Chihuahua Puppy Waitlist

  1. Send the free adoption application and choose "Waitlist for a future litter".
  2. Tell us your preferences: coat, gender, color, and how flexible you are on each.
  3. We contact you within 24 hours to talk through your home and answer questions.
  4. When a matching litter is born, we send photos and you choose in waitlist order.
  5. A deposit reserves your puppy until go-home day at 8 to 10 weeks.

Flexible families get puppies sooner. A family open to either coat and either gender often gets a puppy from the next litter, while a family set on a long coat cream female may wait two or three litters.

Chihuahua Waitlist Questions

How does the Chihuahua puppy waitlist work?

Send the adoption application and choose the waitlist option. When a litter is born, we contact waitlist families in the order their applications arrived, before the puppies are listed online. You choose from the puppies that match what you asked for, or you can pass and keep your place for the next litter.

Does it cost anything to join the waitlist?

Joining the waitlist is free. A deposit is only taken once the litter is born and you have chosen a specific puppy. Until then you can leave the list at any time with nothing to pay. Our deposit policy explains what happens after you reserve.

How many puppies are in a Chihuahua litter?

Chihuahua litters are small, usually 2 to 4 puppies and occasionally 1 or 5. That is why a waitlist matters: one litter may only produce one puppy of the coat and gender you want. Tell us how flexible you are on coat, color and gender so we can match you faster.

When do I choose my puppy from a litter?

When a litter that matches your preferences is born, we send photos and families choose in waitlist order. Choosing usually happens once the coats and markings are clear, a few weeks after birth, and the puppy then stays with us until go-home day.

Can I choose the gender and color of my puppy?

Tell us your preferences when you join the waitlist and we will match you with a litter likely to produce them. No breeder can promise a color or gender before puppies are born, so families who are flexible on one or the other usually get a puppy sooner.
