Meeting a puppy's mother tells you more than any listing: her size, her coat, and how she behaves with strangers in her own home, which is a fair preview of the puppy's temperament. You also see where the litter was raised, and you can ask us anything face to face.

Chihuahuas for Sale in Oklahoma: Drive Down, Send Someone or Fly

Drive down and collect. This is what we suggest for most of Oklahoma, because you meet the mother, see where your puppy was raised and get the full care walkthrough in our home. It is one long day or an easy weekend.

Send someone to collect. Plenty of Oklahoma families have relatives in Dallas or Austin. Anyone you name can collect your puppy from us by appointment and get the same walkthrough. Send us their name in advance and confirm in writing.

We fly it to you. If driving is not possible, one of us flies with your puppy in the cabin to Oklahoma City or Tulsa and hands it over in arrivals.

Oklahoma City and Tulsa to Temple: Drive Times

The slow parts are Dallas or Fort Worth and Waco. Leave early, aim to pass through the Metroplex before 7 a.m. or after 9, and you can be in Temple by lunch. For the drive home, a midday pickup gets you through Dallas before the evening rush.

Five hours is a long day for a puppy that weighs 2 pounds. We feed every puppy before it leaves us. On the way home:

1. Stop near Gainesville or the Red River and offer a few bites of the starter food and a little water.
2. Keep the carrier belted in on the back seat, out of direct sun, with a second person beside it if you can.
3. If the puppy goes limp or wobbly rather than just sleepy, rub a pea-sized amount of Nutri-Cal on its gums and pull over until it perks up.
4. Feed again within an hour of getting home, then let it sleep somewhere warm and quiet.
